MPI Offshore has been at the forefront of offshore wind since the early 2000s. Together with Van Oord, we were among the industry’s early pioneers. In 2003, we introduced MPI Resolution, the world’s first purpose‑built offshore wind jack‑up vessel. A milestone that helped shape modern offshore wind installation.
Today, with more than 20 years of experience, MPI Offshore operates from the North East of England, delivering specialist marine services across Europe. In 2018, MPI Offshore became part of Van Oord, combining our UK heritage and vessel expertise with Van Oord’s global EPCI and Balance of Plant capabilities. This integration allows us to offer clients a powerful blend of local presence, technical depth, and international strength.
Our roots in the North East
Our identity is firmly anchored in the North East of England. Our office is located in North Yorkshire, and most of our 50+ staff live in Teesside and the surrounding region.
As a fully integrated part of Van Oord Offshore Wind, our team brings together specialists in engineering, project management, vessel operations, finance, tendering, and commercial management. What unites us is a shared commitment to Marine ingenuity, long‑term sustainable solutions, and a culture built on teamwork, dedication, and care.

Sustainability
We embed sustainability into everything we do, following Van Oord’s S.E.A. - Sustainable Earth Actions - programme. This programme focuses on four key pillars: enhancing the energy transition, accelerating climate action, empowering nature and communities, and achieving netzero emissions.
Through our offshore expertise, we contribute to these ambitions, helping drive renewable energy, protect marine ecosystems, and reduce emissions for a more sustainable future.
